Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) is a federal program. The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), in collaboration with the Department of Human Services (DHS), received approval to operate this program in response to the COVID-19 related school closures. P-EBT provides food supports to help families with children who were receiving free and reduced-price school meals pay for food.
Eligibility for P-EBT:
1. The student must have been absent due to COVID-19.
2. The student must qualify for free and reduced-price meals. Students on our Elementary Campus are all considered free due to CEP status. Students at the High School are free/reduced if the student qualified as such after turning in their free and reduced lunch application. **All students have been eating for free for the last 2 years due to Covid waivers, however, every student at the High School are not free/reduced status. Each year students still turn in applications which designate them as free, reduced or paid lunch status.
3. Benefits are allowed only on planned school calendar days. Benefits are not allowed on weekends or holidays
If families did not report the student's absence as due to COVID-19 at the time of the absence, documentation from a medical provider must be provided to LCSD. Families will receive $7.10 for each day their student was absent due to COVID-19. Benefits are only allowed on planned school calendar days and are not allowed on weekends or holidays.
Families have until July 29, 2022, to submit forms to Lafayette County School District. Forms are available online here, and paper forms will be mailed out to all students. Families must fill out a separate form for each student in their household. Families with questions may contact LCSD at jsanders@lcs.k12.ar.us.
