September 25, 2020 Covid-19 Update
Lafayette County School District, in an extra effort to provide a safe environment for all and a quality education for our students, will be pivoting grades K-6 from our current onsite instruction to virtual learning from the close of business today, Friday, September 25th through Tuesday, October 6th. On-site instruction will resume on Wednesday, October 7th.
Assignment packets are being sent home today with students. Students with Chromebooks may continue to complete assignments through “BUZZ”. ***Should you have any questions about the assignments, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher via email or by calling the elementary office at 870-921-4270 or 870-921-4275.
K-6 parents, if you would like to pick up meals for your child September 28th through October 6th, please fill out the survey e-mailed to your child’s school e-mail address.
Please note that if you were contacted individually about your child having to self-quarantine due to being positive, being tested without a positive result, or being in close contact, they will NOT return until the date their quarantine expires. Pay attention to your specific calendar dates for return and follow the information given. This statement does NOT change what you were told earlier when you were contacted individually.
Currently, we are still having on-site instruction for grades 7-12th. It is our goal to maintain a safe and productive on-site learning environment for our students and staff. Buses will continue to run as usual. At this time, no athletic teams or organizations are restricted from practicing, performing, or competing.
The District will continue to follow CDC, ADH and DESE guidelines and recommendations for proper cleaning and disinfecting of our facilities and buses. Parents, please remember to keep your student home if they exhibit any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, headache, and/or loss taste and smell. Working together, we can help decrease the spread of Covid-19 in our school and community.
