Due to a high number of positive Covid-19 cases among students and staff, Lafayette County School District, will pivot from our current onsite instruction to virtual learning for grades K-12 from the close of business today, Wednesday, January 20 through Friday, January 29th. In addition, virtual Fridays for on-site instruction is also canceled.
On-site instruction will resume on Monday, February 1st.
Assignment packets are being sent home today with some students. Students with Chromebooks may continue to complete assignments through “BUZZ”. ***Should you have any questions about the assignments, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher via email or by calling the elementary office at 870-921-4270 or the high school office 870-533-4464.
Lunch will continue to be served .Lunches may be picked up at the cafeteria doors from 11:30- 12:30 daily.
Please note that if you were contacted individually about your child having to self-quarantine due to being positive, being tested without a positive result, or being in close contact, they will NOT return until the date their quarantine expires. Pay attention to your specific calendar dates for return and follow the information given. This statement does NOT change what you were told earlier when you were contacted individually.
The District will continue to follow CDC, ADH and DESE guidelines and recommendations for proper cleaning and disinfecting of our facilities and buses. Parents, please remember to keep your student home if they exhibit any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, headache, and/or loss taste and smell. Working together, we can help decrease the spread of Covid-19 in our school and community.
December 15, 2020 Update
Lafayette County School District, in an extra effort to provide a safe environment for all and a quality education for our students, will be pivoting grades K-1 from our current onsite instruction to virtual learning from the close of business today, Tuesday, December 15 through the scheduled Christmas holidays. On-site instruction will resume on January 4, 2021.

October 26, 2020 Covid-19 Update
“Virtual Fridays”
Beginning November 6, 2020
On-site students will have the option to attend school on campus or virtually on “Virtual Fridays”. On-site students attending school on campus on Fridays will use the blended learning platforms: BUZZ, Google Classroom and/or Learning Packets during instruction. Buses will not run on “Virtual Fridays”, transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
NEW SCHEDULE FOR ON-SITE STUDENTS
(BEGINNING November 6)
MONDAY-THURSDAY
Onsite Learning (students on-site continue to come to school in person)
Buses will run as usual.
FRIDAY
Blended Learning from home (students can login BUZZ, Google Classroom, or Learning Packets)
OR
Come to school in person to complete virtual work on campus. Buses will NOT run. Transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Breakfast and lunch will be served.
