Due to the continuous spread of Covid-19, Governor Asa Hutchinson has extended the closure of schools through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. However, virtual learning will continue to be provided by school districts. Lafayette County Elementary and Lafayette County High School will continue to provide weekly online assignments on the District’s website and/or learning packets for students to complete. Parents may download assignments from the district’s website or pick up learning packets each Tuesday from 9:00-3:00. Completed assignments may be emailed to the teachers or dropped off during that time.
Assignments will be a review of skills taught prior to the closure of school. Parents, please be vigilant in making sure your child completes all work assigned. Assignments will be graded and recorded in TAC. Should you or your child have any questions or concerns, teachers will be available via email during regular school hours to assist with assignments. If you are unable to make contact with the teachers, please feel free to reach out to your child’s principal at the email address listed below.
High School Principal, Ed Grant: firstname.lastname@example.org
Elementary Principal, Harvey Sellers: email@example.com
Please continue to work with us as we follow the guidance of Governor Asa Hutchinson, Commissioner Johnny Key and the Arkansas Department of Health. We will continue to communicate with you through e-notes, social media, and our webpage as information is made available to us. Parents make sure you have updated contact information on file. Should you need to update your information, please contact the school and provide the updated information to ensure you receive key information from the school district.
Furthermore, we encourage all members and stakeholders of Lafayette County School District to practice good health habits. If the need for self-quarantine arises, we ask that you please contact the school to provide notification and receive guidance regarding your child’s education.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. Be safe!
